Whilst looking after my elderly father the other week who is nursing a broken collar bone I had yet another glimpse of the power and humour of Spirit. Frustrated by not being allowed to drive and being housebound my father informed me he felt fit enough to drive and asked my opinion . I told him he wasn't supposed to drive till after he was given the all clear from the hospital, but being the cantankerous lovable old devil he is, he informed me he was going to any way. Realising I was appealing to deaf ears I decided there was no point in arguing any longer and decided to return to my own home. Dad came to the door to see us off as we made our way down his driveway I noticed his rear tyre was flat. Still not satisfied he went to find his electric pump to blow up the tyre only to find it needed charged for twenty four hours as all the power had gone from it. Dad wasn't meant to drive the car that day and spirit were making sure he didn't. |
